Timothy Wissman

Timothy G. Wissman, 53 of Ironton, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2012, at The Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus. The Dayton native was born April 24, 1960, the son of Marianne Holtzapfel Wissman of Ironton. He is survived by his wife Kathy Owens Wissman, whom he married Dec. 24, 1979.

Mr. Wissman attended Rock Hill High School and was a construction worker for many years. He was a member of St. Lawrence O’ Toole Catholic Church in Ironton and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Ashland, Ky.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, T.R. and Leann Wissman of Ironton; a grandson, Gavin Wissman of Ironton; two sisters, Angela Todd and her fiancé, Jerry Elliot of Ironton and Anita and Fred Barney of Ironton; a brother, Christopher Wissman of Mesa, Ariz.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Judy Owens of Pedro; two sisters-in-law, Kim and Butch Roberts of Ironton, and Kristy Bamer and her companion Greg Willis of Ironton; two brothers-in-law, Randy and Christy Owens of Franklin Furnace, and Rick Owens of South Point; and 30 nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request there will be no public visitation or services at this time. A private service for the family will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to, OLBH Foundation, St. Christopher Drive, Ashland, KY 41101.

 

 

Johnie Walls

Johnie M. Walls, 75, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sybene Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, W.Va. Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point is in charge of arrangements. Elsie Marcum

Elsie Mae Marcum, 92, of Flatwoods, Ky., died on Sunday, July 28, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., with Ministers Angi Moore and Jimmy Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Jack Bloss

Jack Ervin Bloss Sr., 84, of Palatka, Fla., formerly of Huntington, W.Va., died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka. There will be a private family service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
