Panthers win quad match

PINE GROVE — The battle continues.

The Chesapeake Panthers and Coal Grove Hornets have battled on the golf course the past two years and it continued on Wednesday as the Panthers won a quad match at the Ironton Country Club.

Chesapeake had a 161 team score followed by the Hornets with a 177 total. The Ironton Fighting Tigers were next at 208 and the Rock Hill Redmen finished with a 257.

Shane Stevens shot a 36 and Drew Oxley a 37 to lead the Panthers. Derrick Lemley had a 42 and Jacob Henson 46.

Brent Morgan led Coal Grove as he grabbed medalist honors with a 35. Luke McGraw shot a 42 while Brandon Adkins had a 47 and Tori Holmes a 53.

Jaylen Thornhill led Ironton with a 47. Cory Rawlins and Mitchell Weisgarber each carded a 51 while Mason Slagel finished with a 59.

Logan Barcus topped Rock Hill with a 59 and Austin Barcus was just two shots back. Logan Boggs had a 68 and Drew Brammer a 69.
