Donald Haas

Donald C. Haas, 88, of Ironton, died on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born in Lawrence County, the son of William J. Haas and Anna Dora Boyle. He was preceded by his wife Rose Mary Schweickart Haas. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a St. Joseph High School graduate and a WW II Navy veteran. He was retired from the Dayton Malleable after 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Bob Haas. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann (Mike) Staggs of Wooster and Carolyn (Eric) Edwards of Winchester, Ky.; one son, Lawrence and (Lee Ann) Hass of Gallipolis; and grandchildren include Donnie (Mallory) Staggs, Benn (Hope) Staggs, Rachel Staggs and Dara Long. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St Joseph Catholic Church with Father David Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Coal Grove. VFW Post 2761 Symmes Valley will perform graveside service. O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Clarence Mathews

Clarence Dayrel Mathews, 62, of Proctorville, died Friday Sept. 6, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center Huntington, W.Va.   Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville.  Burial will follow in Getaway Cemetery Chesapeake. Proctorville VFW Post #6878 will conduct military graveside rites.  Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Jazmyn Adkins

Jazmyn Briona Marie Adkins,  2-month-old daughter of Tasha and Charlie Adkins of Ashland, Ky., died at home Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the Chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eddie Salmons officiating.
