Edward Pinkerman

Edward V. Pinkerman, 79, of Willow Wood, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley in Ironton. The Lawrence County native was born Sept. 19, 1933, the son of the late Elias and Eva Massie Pinkerman. He married Shirley Marie Justice Pinkerman on Dec. 31, 1954, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 2011.

Mr. Pinkerman attended Pedro schools and attended Palestine Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army from 1953 through 1955 and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was a retired union construction worker and self-employed farmer.

He was also preceded in death by one son, William Edward Pinkerman; one sister, Margaret Kelly; and two brothers, Alex and George Pinkerman.

He is survived by his aunt who raised him, Neva Massie Self of Ironton; daughter, Dianna Pinkerman Skaggs of Ona, W.Va.; son, Jerry “Bud” and Maudie Pinkerman of Gallipolis; daughter, Pamela “Susie” and Joe Hurley of Wilmington, N.C.; son, Michael “Mike” Pinkerman and his fiancée, Heather of Wilgus; daughter, Rita Faye and Randall James of Gallipolis; son, Charles “Bo” Pinkerman of Wilgus; a sister, Eva Faye Phipps of Oregon; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a special thanks to his caregiver, Kathy Price.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Triplett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant/Old Baptist Cemetery with military rites by VFW 2761. Edith Staton

Edith Staton, 93 of South Point, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Pastor Chuck Price officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. Belinda Coleman

Belinda Blanchard White Coleman, 42, of South Point, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Jefferson Avenue Church of God, Huntington, W.Va., with Pastor Rod Justice officiating. Burial will follow in Lockard and Reed Cemetery, South Williamson, Ky. Visitation may call an hour prior to the service at the church. Mary Lambert

Mary Lambert, 63, of Cincinnati, formerly of Ironton, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at a health care center in Cincinnati. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.
