James Taylor

James Taylor, 60, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Ky. He was born on Jan. 9, 1953, in Detroit, Mich., and was a son of the late J.L. Curry and Thelma Taylor. James is survived his wife of 18 years, Sonja Taylor, whom he married on June 20, 1995.

James was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Tried Stone Baptist Church in Ironton.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by one son, Michael Battise of Ironton; one grandson, Sean Robinson of South Point; seven sisters, Donna Stevens, Mary Taylor, Cynthia Taylor, Henrietta Curry, Harriett Watson, Wanda Thomas and Odessey Curry; five brothers, Jeffrey Curry, Roger Taylor, Carlos Taylor, Ronald Taylor and Michael Taylor; and also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins who will miss him greatly.

Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with Bishop Tony Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery, Greenup County, Ky. Graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 8850. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on the day of the service. Pallbearers will be Bruce Taylor, Ian Garrett, Vernon Garrett, Anthony Garrett, Glenn Brickey and Montez Garrett.

Michael Ikert

Micheal Ikert, 56 of Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He is survived by his wife, Tanya.

Keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Chapel.

James Basaldua, 52, of Ashland, Ky., died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Arrangements are pending at Bailey Family Funeral Home.

John Paul Tillis, 91, of Proctorville, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at home. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

 

 

Harold Smith

Harold Smith, 84, of South Point, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at his residence. Arrangements are pending at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home.
