The officers informed the members of upcoming events and praised the district for its good projects that helped Ohio earn several awards at the GFWC 2013 annual convention in Florida. Members were asked to continue with projects that were beneficial to their communities. All members were encouraged to visit the international headquarters of the GFWC in Washington D.C., whenever possible and also to visit the Ohio Memorial Forest Shrine in Ashland County, which is maintained by the Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs and the ODNR.

The shrine is a memorial to more than 20,000 Ohio soldiers who have lost their lives in military service in the wars from World War II until now. The shrine is open to the public and is a memorial to honor Ohio’s fallen soldiers.

The General Federation of Women’s Club is an international organization that has membership in all states.

The Proctorville Woman’s Club is a part of GFWC Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs. The club is always looking for new members who want to serve, and GFWC provides guidance and opportunities through many community service projects and programs.
