PEDRO — The Rock Hill Redwomen felt like they were in the Land of the Giants and there weren’t any magic beans in sight.

The South Point Lady Pointers used their size advantage to post a 60-31 win over the Redwomen Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We were undersized and they took advantage of it,” said Rock Hill coach Greg Damron.

“They beat us under the basket. We didn’t rebound well and we gave up too many easy baskets.”

South Point (3-1, 1-0) was led by 6-foot senior center Brett Justice with a game-high 20 points. Bri Bacon had 12 points and Haley Rawlins scored 10.

Kasey Russell had 9 points to lead Rock Hill (1-3, 0-1).

Rawlins jump-started the Lady Pointers with half their points as they took a 16-5 lead.

Justice took over in the second quarter and scored 10 points as South Point outscored the Redwomen 21-6 and opened up a 37-11 cushion at the half.

Rock Hill outscored the Lady Pointers 12-11 in the third quarter as Madison Damron, Lindy Simpson, Kasey Russell and Sarah Travis all hit 3-pointers. Justice scored 6 more points and South Point led 48-23.

Rock Hill plays at Coal Grove next Thursday.

South Point visits Gallipolis on Monday in a non-league game.
