Lady Oaks turn back Coal Grove

OAK HILL — The Coal Grove Lady Hornets started well but then sputtered on offense as they lost to the unbeaten Oak Hill Lady Oaks 58-37 Saturday.

Coal Grove took a 13-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Oaks outscored the Lady Hornets 21-6 in the second quarter to lead 31-19 at the half.

The Lady Hornets went stone cold from the field and did not score in the third quarter and Oak Hill ran off 17 unanswered points to lead 48-19.

Leanna Adkins had 17 points to lead Oak Hill (9-0). Layne Roseberry scored 15 and Abby Haislop 14.

Jacy Jones scored 14 points to pace the Lady Hornets (3-5).
