Bible describes society today

Published 9:40am Thursday, January 9, 2014

For people like me, who are sick of Congress, the president, Obamacare, gay marriage and today’s society, let me quote some verses from 2nd Timothy, Chapter 3:

“In the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, bolsters, proud, blasphemers. Disobedient to parents unthankful, unholy.

“Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, dispisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovees of pleasure, more than lovers of God.Having a form of godliness, but denying thereof.”

This is a great description political leaders and the people of society.

It all boils down to this:

1. In society, your loss is my gain.

2. Major political issues, you have no vote.

3. Politicians and the president lie to keep their seats.

A new Hank Williams song sums it up.

“Keep the change, I don’t need it. Welcome to the United Socialist States of America.”

Several things come to mind reading your letter. First, we have been a Democratic Socialist country for many , mnay years. If you do not believe this, then stop driving on our interstate highways, sending your kids to public school, walking on sidewalks, going to libraries, collecting Social Security, visting the Grand Canyon, etc. Next, thank God we do not live in a Theocracy, as the bible and its words can be construed to mean anything at anytime in history. Your use of 2nd Timothy proves that. You , along with other self rightous people who think they know better than God himself, show your ignorance of the bible you quote. No one knows when the end of time will be, including Jesus the Son of God. The bible is not the document this country was founded on, it is the Constitution. And last, ask yourself what did Jesus say about gay marriage? I will help you , nothing.
