Gary Jewell

Gary Morris Jewell, 77, of Portsmouth, formerly of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at the Hospice Center in Portsmouth. The Ironton native was born April 10, 1936, the son of the late Lawrence E. and Georgia Jenkins Jewell.
Mr. Jewell was a graduate of Ironton High School and a U.S. Army National Guard veteran. He was a former employee for the Ironton Semet Solvey/Coke Plant and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Jewell.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela J. (Ralph) Cartee, of Portsmouth, and LaFon K. (Randy) Jenkins, of Michigan; a son, Gary Darin Jewell of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Larry Jewell of Ironton; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be noon Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Jenkins and Pastor Scott Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Scott Mulkey
Scott A. Mulkey, 20, of Ripley, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at his residence.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Russellville Church of Christ with Drew Lane officiating. Burial will follow at the Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Meeker Funeral Home in Russellville. Sherri Clay
Sherri Lynn Holland Clay, 57, of Branchland, W.Va., died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va. She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Clay. Funeral service will be conducted 12 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, by Pastor D.L. Webb. Roger Pemberton
Roger Pemberton, 75, of Flatwoods, Ky., died on Sunday, Feb.  2, 2014, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens-Flatwoods. Arthur Mosley
Arthur F. Mosley, 65, of Pedro, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. He was the husband of Frances Mosley, who survives. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.
