Nelson Davisson

Nov. 9, 1944-Feb. 12, 2014

Nelson Davisson, 69, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. The Hanging Rock native was born Nov. 9, 1944, the son of the late Earl and Bessie Stapleton Davisson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Holbrook Davisson.

Mr. Davisson attended Green Township School, was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a member of the New Boston Eagles #2271.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Sonny Davisson and Charles David Davisson; and a sister, Sally Mae Davisson Vallance.

He is survived by a son, Scott Davisson of Franklin Furnace; a daughter, Sandra Lynn (Timothy) Salyers of Franklin Furnace; two sisters, Margaret Davisson and Debby Vaughn, both of Cincinnati; two grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) Davisson of South Point, and Bryce Jordan Salyers of Franklin Furnace; and a great granddaughter, Mikha Davisson.

Freidabel Pancake

Aug. 11, 1929-Feb. 13, 2014

Freidabel Brammer Pancake, 84, of Waterloo, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at her residence.  The Marion native was born Aug. 11, 1929, the daughter of the late Neal and Ruth Crabtree Brammer.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis R. Pancake Sr., who passed away April 4, 2009.

Mrs. Pancake attended Marion schools, was a member of Zoar Baptist Church in Coal Grove and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers,  Marion Brammer, Carl Brammer, Sherman Brammer, Paul Brammer, Bert Brammer, and David Brammer; four sisters,  Nellie Schotte, Lexie Mildred Schotte, Ora Grace Mosbargar, and Rose Gier; and a granddaughter, Shanna D. Pancake

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law,  Brenda and William Cade of Waterloo;

two sons and daughters-in-law,  Lloyd and Connie Pancake of Ironton and Curtis and Janet Pancake, Jr. of Ripley, W.Va.; a brother,  James Brammer of Marion; a sister,  Loretta Moury of Cartington; three grandchildren, Tom (Amber) Cade of Waterloo, and Mandy Cade of Kingston, and a special granddaughter, Danielle Riley of Kingston; two stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Gibson of Sissonville, W.Va. and Virginia Gibson of Lexington, Ky.; and three great grandchildren, Uriah, Kaylee, and Enola Rose Cade of Waterloo.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Pancake officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mack Burcham

Nov. 1, 1934-Feb. 13, 2014

Mack Burcham, 79, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Jo-Lin Nursing Home.  Mr. Burcham was born Nov. 1, 1934, the son to the late Matt Staten and Georgia Erwin Burcham.  He was the husband of Betty “Joann” Remy Burcham, who passed away Jan. 15, 2007.

Mr. Burcham attended both Dawson Bryant and St. Joe High Schools, he was retired from Pilgrim Glass and was a former employee of Dayton Malleable.  Mr. Burcham was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  He attended Ironton City Mission Church.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law,  Matt and Sonya Burcham of Ironton; five grandchildren,  Kyle Burcham, Chad Hamilton, Ashley McKnight, Courtney McCabe and Tracey Dale; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at  the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, with Rev Jeff Cremeans officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by VFW Post  8850.  Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.  To offer the family condolences, please visit www.tracybrammerfh.com.

 

 

Brandi Mannon

Brandi Marie Mannon, 26, of Gallipolis, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at her residence.

June Webb

June 4, 1927-Feb. 13, 2014

June Webb, 86, of South Point, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born June 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Earl L. and Helen Henthorn Massie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Ralph Webb, who passed away Aug. 6, 2009.

Mrs. Webb attended Kitts Hill schools and was a homemaker. She attended the Sheridan Freewill Baptist Church and was raised in the Kitts Hill area.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Lindsley; two brothers, Ralph Massie and William Massie; and

two sisters, Mary Eldridge and Nancy Eaves.

She is survived by two grandsons, Steven and Amy Harrison of Franklin Furnace and Brian Travis Harrison of South Point; great grandson, Josh Hayes, and special companion, Buttons.

Funeral services will be 11a.m.Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Randy Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Raymond Doyle

Sept. 25, 1926-Feb. 14, 2014

Raymond Gerald Doyle, 87, of Ironton, went to meet the Lord at his home Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. The Lawrence County native was born Sept. 25, 1926, a son to the late Frank and Margaret (Fetters) Day.  Raymond is also preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Doyle, who passed away in January 2013.  He was a graduate of Ironton High School and an Army veteran of World War II.  He was a member of the First Tabernacle Church, Ironton, where he was choir leader, Sunday School teacher and trustee.  Ray retired from Allied Chemical and Boggs Construction.

Raymond is survived by his three daughters, Robin (Mike) Vanhorn, Lisa (Bill) Brown, and Kim (Randy) Quillen; four grandchildren, Jessica Rose Gillum, Justin Lee Gillum, Eric Doyle Brown, and Cody Lee Quillen; one great grandson, Laylan Ray Gillum; two sisters, Edna Bishop and Betty (Bob) Morris; and a faithful companion, Lab.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home. A small service by Rev. Jimmy Cremeans will be at 6:30 p.m. during the visitation.
