Lady Vikings end season with rout of Lady Tartans, 66-26

SCIOTOVILLE — What a way to go.

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings finished the season with a flourish as they rolled past the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans 66-26 Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“The girls played pretty well. It was a nice way for our seniors to go out,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Brandon Walker.

The game was the final contest for Nicole Davis, Megan Johnson, Hannah Maynard, Linru Li and Kalli Hunt.

Hunt celebrated with 14 points, 23 rebounds and four steals. Maynard had 13 pionts and 13 rebounds plus three steals.

Breanna Brumfield added 11 points and five steals.

Shay Brown scored 10 for East.

Brumfield and Hunt scored six points each in the first quarter as the Lady Vikings bolted to a 21-4 lead.

Maynard scored five points as Symmes Valley extended the lead to 32-9 at the half.

Maynard scored six more points and Kelsea Massie had four points as the Lady Vikings opened up a 53-16 cushion.

Elly Fulks scored six points in the fourth quarter as Symmes Valley continued to stretch its lead.

The Lady Vikings finished the campaign 10-12, their second straight 10-win season. Hunt finished her career with more than 900 points and nearly 900 rebounds.
