Ruth Rust

Ruth L. Rust, 75, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Soldier, Ky., native was born May 29, 1938, the daughter of the late Eliga Stearl and Cora Zelma Clark Evans. She was the widow of Ronald Rust.

Ruth was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and was a retired secretary for Ashland Oil. She was a member of the Coal Grove Memorial United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Fugett; and brother-in-law, Danny Mullins. She is survived by a sister, Flora Mullins, of Ironton; niece, Angela Mullins, of Port Huron; nephew, Brent and Cathy Fugett, of South Point; nephew, Brian Fugett, of Chesapeake; and two great-nieces, Emily and Erin Fugett, both of South Point.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with pastor Brad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Ruth’s name to the Coal Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, 226 Memorial Street Coal Grove, Ohio 45638. Michael Leffingwell

Michael Neal Leffingwell, 60, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Memorial Gardens in Miller. There will be no visitation. Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Michael Galloway

Michael David Galloway, 63, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at home. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville pastor Jerry Galloway. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

Mary Pancake

Mary Winifred Pancake, 69, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Blackfork native was born June 9, 1944, a daughter of the late August Lee Webb and Lillian Marjorie Edwards Webb, of Ironton.

Mary was a 1962 graduate of Rock Hill High School where she was the salutatorian. She attended the 10th Street Tabernacle and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her mother-in law, Phyllis Barbara, and father-in-law, Hershel Pancake Jr.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, William Jay Pancake, of Ironton, whom she married Dec. 26, 1964; son and daughter-in-law, William D. and Margaret Pancake, of Greenup, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Deanna L. and Michael Preston, of Ironton; seven grandchildren, Stephanie E. Meyers, Samantha D. Meyers, Audrey L. Preston, Michael B. Preston II, Ethan G. Preston, Katelyn N. Floyd, all of Ironton, and Kevin B. Pennington, of Greenup, Ky.; three great-grandchildren, Lillian J. Ison, Chase Akers and Jaylnn Gillispie, all of Ironton; sister, Lavonne L. Stamper, of Ironton; brother and sister-in-law, David and Gail Webb, of Kitts Hill; and sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Richard Robinson, of Ironton.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with the Rev. Danny Pancake officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Jimmie Lemon

Jimmie Lee Lemon, 73, of Barboursville, W.Va., died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville. Visitation will be an hour before service.

 

Gilbert Edwards
