ATHENS — It took some high-scoring performances to decide this high-scoring game.

Rodney Glasgow scored 30 points and D.J. Covington 29 as VMI rallied to edge the Ohio Bobcats 92-90 Wednesday in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

Nick Kellogg and Maurice Ndour matched the VMI duo’s performance. Kellogg scored a career-high 30 points and Ndour 26 for Ohio (25-12).

The Keydets trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half and were down 46-39 at the break.

Ohio built ad 35-18 lead, but the Keydets went on a 10-0 run as they came back to trail by seven at the half.

The Bobcats pulled away to a 53-45 lead at the 16:49 mark of the second half, but VMI scored nine unanswered points to take a 54-53 lead with 14:17 left.

The Keydets (22-12) began to pull away and led 86-74, but Ohio used a 9-0 run capped by Kellogg’s trifecta to trail by three.

But Glasgow and Covington combined to go 4-for-4 at the foul line over the final 18 seconds as VMI held on.

Although the season ended for Ohio, the senior class finished their careers with a school-record fifth consecutive post-season tournament appearance.

It also marked the third time in Bobcats’ history the program has won 25 games in a season.
