SP’s Wade fires 5-inning no-hitter

SOUTH POINT — It was quite a reception for the South Point Pointers’ new baseball field.

The Pointers played the first game on their new field and celebrated as Logan Wade threw a five-inning no-hitter in an 18-0 rout of the Tolsia Rebels on Tuesday.

Wade struck out 11 and walked four as he held Tolsia in check. He also went 2-3 with a run batted in and two runs scored.

The Pointers (3-1) racked up 14 hits led by Alex Whitt and Chris Woodard who each went 2-3, Whitt scored four runs and had two RBIs while Woodard had an RBI and scored three times.

Tyler Branch and Christian Prichard each had doubles.
