Ronnie Slone

Ronnie Slone, 65, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center Ironton Campus. The Ironton native was born July 1, 1948, a son of the late Paris Slone and Bessie Hamilton Slone. He was the widow of Janet Irene Dehner Slone who passed away on July 19, 1987.

Ronnie attended Rock Hill Schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a former employee of the Ford Motor Company and former construction worker for the L.W. Kline and Son Construction Company. He was an avid Ironton Tiger fan and loved spending time with his family. He was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by brother, Charles Slone; and sister, Wilma Jean Slone.

He is survived by daughter, Ronda “Punky” Slone, of Ironton; daughter, Lori Lea Slone, and her fiancé, Sean Robertson, of South Point; daughter, Candice Welsh, of Ironton; son, William Paris Slone and his fiancée, Becky Johnson, of Ironton; seven grandchildren, Hayden, Landon and Braxton Harper, Jade and Reese Robertson, Payslee Slone and Devyn Pritchard; brother, Everett Slone (Oleda), of Ironton; brother, James Slone (Jackie Balmer), of Ironton; and brother, Gary Slone, of Ironton.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery with Military graveside rites by VFW Post 8850. Charles Cottle

Charles Edward Cottle, 46, of Sciotoville, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at his residence. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Flatwoods, Ky., with Mark Day officiating. Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods has been entrusted with the arrangements.

 

 

Forrest Hamlin

Forrest “Hob” Hamlin, 78, of Chesapeake, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at Cornerstone Hospital of Huntington. He is survived by his wife, June Hamlin. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with the Rev. Harold Hamlin and Pastor Dale Barnett officiating. Entombment will follow at Rome Cemetery. Charles Carlisle

Charles Carlisle, 61, of Ironton, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Arrangements are pending at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home.

 

 

Joanna Lucas

Joanna Lucas, 74, of Kitts Hill, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the Hospice House of Huntington. She is survived by her husband, Herman Lucas. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville.
