Redmen rip Raiders, 15-1

PEDRO — The Rock Hill Redmen gave a “striking” performance.

Rock Hill coach Barry Litteral was pleased with the “strikes” on both sides of the diamond as the Redmen routed the River Valley Raiders 15-1 in five innings Wednesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We hit the ball and Jordan (Hairston) threw a nice game. He just threw strikes and we hit strikes,” said Litteral.

The Redmen had 11 hits with Levi Wilds going 2-2, Corey Noel 2-3 and Jonathan Joseph 2-4. Hairston doubled to help himself as he gave up five hits, struck out five and walked just one.

Rock Hill (8-4, 3-2) jumped out to a 6-0 lead

Aaron Dalton singled, stole second and Jonah Cox singled him home.

Joseph and Hairston singled for a run and Noel had a two-run single. Wilds followed with an RBI single, Noel scored when Chance Blankenship grounded out and Drew McClaskey singled in the final run.

Three runs scored in third.

Noel singled, Wilds walked, Blankenship beat out an infield hit and a throwing error scored two runs. Blankenship scored when Dalton grounded out.

Rock Hill put the game away with six runs in the fourth.

Joseph singled, Hairston walked and Wilds had an RBI single. Blankenship reached on an error for a run and McClaskey and Dalton walked to force in a run. Cox walked to force in another run and Jack Goodwin had a two-run single.
