In just more than a week, the annual event that draws young and old from throughout the county and region will kick off.

This year, the Lawrence County Fair is set to begin on July 4. Organizers and local 4-H and Future Farmers of America clubs are hard at work making final preparations to put Lawrence County on display.

This year the event features everything from national and local musical acts to the traditional demolition derbies, along with a monster truck show and tractor pull. The fair is poised to once again showcase Lawrence County.

Not to be forgotten is the revenue injection the fair brings to the local economy, which helps local businesses, vendors and helps our youth raise money for various projects. Being able to bring visitors into the county is vital and can leave a lasting impression.

In all, each year the fair looks to promote and provide a positive atmosphere for families, the community and reminds us each year why Lawrence County is a special place to call home.

We encourage all who can to attend the fair at some point throughout the week and support our local youth and other vendors and businesses.
