Grant money a ‘true blessing’ for Ironton

Published 11:06am Tuesday, July 1, 2014

Recently the City of Ironton received some good news — $300,000 in grant funds for our streets and infrastructure. This is a true blessing from our government for our community.

We, as is the case with other fine old river cities, have seen these streets used decade after decade, servicing our forefathers from a few horse and buggies, countless Model Ts and currently two or three modern vehicles per family scurrying about Ironton 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

We must be thankful for participation in these much-needed funds and see safe enjoyment of the end result.

Thanks to our grant writers.
