Jack Rudman

Jack E. Rudman, 43, of South Point, formerly of Coal Grove, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. He was a 1990 graduate of Coal Grove High School. He was a former employee of Motor Parts in Ironton and Engine Parts Warehouse in Huntington, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rita Rudman, of Coal Grove; in-laws, Richard and Barbara Moore, of South Point; and a nephew, Jordan Ray Moore, of Huntington. Surviving is his wife, Becky (Moore) Rudman, of South Point; a daughter, Kara Rudman, of Coal Grove; a stepdaughter, Brittany Martin, of Flatwoods, Ky.; two grandchildren, Emily Miller and Hunter Martin, of Ironton; two sisters, Sherrie and Chuck Thompson, and Krystal Rudman and her fiance, Kevin Baker, of Ironton; a brother-in-law, Rick and Trish Moore, of Ashland, Ky.; two nephews, T.J. Thompson, of Ironton, and Austin Moore, of Ashland, Ky.; two nieces, Miranda Moore, of Ashland, Ky., and Lilly Rudman, of Ironton; and a very special aunt, Janice (Phillip) May.

Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, cooking out and entertaining family and friends.

Pallbearers are Bruce Burgess, best friend, David Collier, cousin and best friend, Bobby Waddle, Rick Moore, Scott Terry, nephews, Jeff Morgan, Shaun Russell and Austin Moore. Honorary pallbearers are Wyatt Collier, Hunter Martin, Easton Collier and Jordan Moore.

During Jack’s long, hard fight with rectal cancer, his wife and family would like to thank all of the coaches he had in his corner that gave him the will to fight, including Dr. M. Faresi, Dr. M. Lewis, Drs. Charbel and Galena Salem, Dr. J. Martin, Dr. Alzoby, Dr. W. Boykin, Dr. Atkins, Dr. Chochren, all the staff on the oncology unit at KDMC, Tri-State Hematology Oncology and Ashland Community Hospice and Team Ohio.

Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point with Pastor Harry Moore officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Condolences may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

 

 

Hazel Herb

Hazel J. Herb, 103, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Entombment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, W.Va. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
