COAL GROVE — The Dawson-Bryant Board of Education has started its search for a new superintendent for the second time in as many years.

Current superintendent George York announced his retirement in June and his last day is July 31. The board wasted no time advertising the position and a pair of special meetings is scheduled for next week to interview applicants.

“The most important thing a board of education does is hire a superintendent,” Brad Miller, Dawson-Bryant treasurer, said. “Many of the applicants have no experience as a superintendent, but that’s not always a bad thing.”
