Morgan keys CG golfers

PINE GROVE — There were a lot of good scores and one really great score during Wednesday’s five-team golf match at the Ironton Country Club.

Brent Morgan turned in a 34 as the Coal Grove Hornets won the five-team match.

Coal Grove had a 153 total as Brandon Adkins and Chase McKnight both fired a 39. Trevor Deere shot a 41 followed by Tori Holmes with a 47 and Ryan Malone 49.

Jackson was next with a 166 total followed by the Ironton Fighting Tigers with a 175, Rock Hill Redmen 228 and the St. Joseph Flyers 236.

Jaylen Thornhill shot a 42 and Chandler Dodson 43 to lead Ironton. Cory Rawlins was just one more shot back at 44 and Mitchell Weisgarber had a 46 to complete Ironton’s scoring.

Mason Slagel added a 58 and Trevor Hacker shot a 60.

Rock Hill was led by Logan Reed with a 44 followed by Jason Haywood with a 50. Andrew Brammer, Austin Barcus and Chase Nelson all shot a 67.

Bryson Adkins led St. Joseph with a 46 and James Carter carded a 55. Kaitlin Thompson had a 65 and Bentley Meade 70.

Jarod LeMaster and Dakota Simpson each had a 41 for Jackson while Cole Massie, Ricky Fraley and Evan Coyan all shot a 42. Derek Murray had a 61.
