Miller, Redmen give strong performance; Lady Dragons get win

PICKERINGTON — It turned out to be a pretty good trip.
Seth Miller was the overall winner as he helped the Rock Hill Redmen cross country team finish fifth in the Pickerington North Panther Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
Miller won the Bengal Division and teammate Brenden McCormick was third among the 190 runners. Their efforts helped the Redmen place fifth in the 16-team field.
Lady Dragons win
PROCTORVILLE — The Fairland Lady Dragons remained unbeaten as they opened Ohio Valley Conference play with a four-set volleyball win over the Coal Grove Lady Hornets.
Fairland won 25-12, 24-26, 25-21 and 25-18 as Kaitlin Stone racked up 24 points and 10 digs.
Kelsey Riley had 16 points, 11 digs and six kills, Mackenzie Riley had nine kills, and Jenna Fulks also had 16 points to aid the winning effort.
In the reserve match, Fairland won 25-17, 29-27 as Melissa McKinney and Caroline Swolsky scored nine points each.
The Lady Dragons host Rock Hill on Thursday.
