OAK HILL — The Chesapeake Panthers showed up for their first game of the season against the Oak Hill Oaks, but their offense didn’t.

The Panthers managed just 39 yards of total offense in a 40-0 loss to the Oaks who countered with 289 total yards.

Oak Hill took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a pair of touchdown passes from Clayton Christensen to Jonathon Harrison covering 25 and 24 yards, respectively.

Christensen then ran 1-yard for a touchdown to begin the second quarter and it was 20-0.

Matt Gilliland had a 1-yard touchdown run just before the end of the half and the Oaks were up 27-0 at the break.

Willy Harris ran 19 yards and Chris Coy broke free on a 67-yard scoring gallop in the third quarter to cap the scoring.

Coy finished with 100 yards on nine carries and Harris added 76 yards on nine attempts.

Christensen was 3 of 8 passing for 60 yards. Harrison had all three receptions.

Chesapeake managed just 19 net years on 28 attempts rushing and only 20 yards passing.
