Pointers top Dragons to remain unbeaten

SOUTH POINT — The South Point Pointers scored early and often and left no doubt about the outcome.

The Pointers jumped out to a 6-0 first half lead and went on to beat the Fairland Dragons 7-3 on Thursday in a soccer game.

South Point (7-0) scored quickly as Trey Kearns got an assist from Jake Helton for a goal at the 5:00 mark.

Micah Harris scored five minutes later with an assist from Kearns and it was 2-0.

Kearns then scored an unassisted goal in the 16th minutes and got another goal in the 20th minute with an assist from Matt Krivan.

Krivan scored his own goal moments later with an assist from Jordan Overstreet and Tanner Mathes had a penalty kick to put the Pointers up 6-0 at the half.

Alex Whitt’s goal with an assist from Gage Stephens in the second half completed the Pointers’ scoring.

Jake Wireman scored all three of Fairland’s goals including a penalty kick.

South Point visits Gallipolis on Tuesday.
