Terry Case

Jan. 31, 1949-Oct. 7, 2014

Terry Lee Case, 65, of Barboursville, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at VA Medical Center, Huntington. He was born Jan. 31, 1949, in Ironton, a son of the late John and Rosemary Nance Case. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Case; and grandson, Landon VonDubn.  He is survived by one son, Scott (Deanna) Case; one daughter, Kelli (Kevin) Hacker; the love of his life Babette Napier; grandchildren, Adam Bryant, Caylyn Case, Jordan Case, Trevor Hacker and Trent Hacker; stepchildren, Michael and Tiffany VonDubn, and Jessica and Donald Evans; stepgrandchildren, Lakin VonDubn and Cecellia Enochs; one brother, Tim (Judy) Case; special friends, Ronald Gibson and family, Tim Hart and family, and Butch Myers and family.  He was a member of Barboursville American Legion Post # 177.  Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, by pastor Danny Roberts with American Legion Post #93, Kenova, W.Va. conducting military rites. In lieu of flowers please bring red, white, blue and maroon balloons to release.  Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville assisted the family with arrangements. Gayln Grube

July 28, 1964-Oct. 9, 2014

Gayln K. Grube, 50, of Scottown, passed away unexpectedly Thursday Oct. 9, 2014, in Lawrence County. The Scottown native was born July 28, 1964, to the late Kenneth E. and Kathryn Mae Myers Grube.

Gayln was a graduate of Symmes Valley High School and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents Gayln was preceded in death by a brother, Lyndall Grube; maternal grandparents, Berkly and Edith Myers; paternal grandparents, Millard and Elva Grube; and a brother-in-law, James E. Hively.

He is survived by son, Gayln K. Grube of Columbus; son, Gregory B. Grube of Pike County; a twin brother, Glenn (Benna) Grube of Scottown; brother, Gary (Anna) Grube of Scottown; brother, Carl (Mona) Grube of Columbus; a sister, Cheryl Hively of Scottown; his dear friend that was like a mother to Gayln, Eliane Cutlip of Cincinnati; his dog, “the Boy”; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends

Carol Wilson

Carol Jean Abrams Wilson, 67, of Ironton, passed away at her home Friday, Oct. 10, 2014. She was preceded in death by her late mother, Ruby Chaffins Abrams and father Ferdie Abrams. She was raised by the late Ike and Lucy Abrams. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Pulley and Helen Hannahs; one brother-in-law, Paul Edward Wilson; and two sisters-in-law, Connie Jean Lake and Ora Louann McGuire. She was a retired nurse from Lawrence County General Hospital. She also worked at Pulley’s Nursing Home. Survivors include her husband, Gary Eugene Wilson of 48 years; three sons. Gary Dwayne and Suzanna (Sis) Wilson, Jeff and Leslie Wilson, and Billy Dale and Jessica Wilson, all of Ironton. She is also survived by two brothers, Ronnie and Linda Chaffins, and William Ike Abrams; three sisters, Betty and Jim Lasitter, Nancy Jackson, and Ethel Mae Jackson; also one brother-in-law, Harold (John) Wilson; two sisters-in-law, Janice Unrue-Crum and Brenda Kay Collingsworth, all of Ironton. There are also six grandchildren, D.J. and D.J. Wilson, Shandra Wilson, Amber Wilson, Noah Wilson, Kaylan Spaulding and Katie Coleman; one great grandchild, Oliver Fannin, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Dave Schug officiating. James Powers

James Robert Powers, 71, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington.  He is survived by his wife Stella Powers.

There will be a private family service.

Ruby Vaughn

Ruby Josephine Vaughn, 96, of South Point, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point.  Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.

Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Thelma Daniels

Thelma Willis-Daniels, 86 of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
