SOUTH POINT — The South Point Lady Pointers are like the Energizer Bunny. They just keep on going.

The Lady Pointers won the Division III sectional volleyball title on Saturday to earn a trip to the district tournament on Wednesday at Waverly High School against Southeastern.

The Lady Pointers won a tough three-set match over the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers, 25-18, 25-17 and 25-18.

The key for the Lady Pointers was the serving of sophomore Mackenzie Fugitt. Her crucial serves in the first and third sets proved pivotal as she scored 14 service points including seven aces.

Offensively, South Point was led by Olivia Abner and Tyra Pettigrew with seven kills each.

Libero Brenna Childers paced the defense with 21 digs while Abner had two blocks.
