Rita Spillman

Rita “Gail” Spillman, 66, of Springfield, died Friday Oct. 17, 2014, at her residence. The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 8, 1948, a daughter of the late John Samuel Spillman and Frances Rita Boone Spillman Crank.

Rita attended Hanging Rock Schools and was a member of the Christian Worship Center in Christiansburg.

She is survived by her sister, Emma and John Risner, of Springfield; nephew, Paul Avery Jr. (Donielle), of Enon; nephew, James Risner (Melissa), of Westerville; niece, Rita Risner (Richard), of Springfield; niece and caregiver, Lisa Avery, of Springfield; niece, Tralisha, Risner, of Cleveland; seven great nieces; two great nephews;  two great-great nieces; and one great-great nephew.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bayless Cemetery in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
