Dorothy Wilburn

Dorothy Lee Wilburn, 90, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. The Ironton native was born June 14, 1924, a daughter of the late Charles V. and Lennie I. Wallenfelz Henthorne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Wilburn, who passed away May 9, 1992.

Mrs. Wilburn was a 1943 graduate of Ironton High School, a member of Central Christian Church in Ironton and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, June Washburn.

She is survived by two daughters, Patty (Tony) Bowen, of Ironton, and Kathy (Jim) Blevins, of Flatwoods; a sister, Charlene Thomas, of Ironton; a brother, Charles “Chick” (Judi) Henthorne, of Ironton; five grandchildren, Marianne Sisler, Sarah (Jon) Smith, Donnie Sisler, all of Ironton, Molly (Jarrod) Bowen, of Holly Ridge, North Carolina, and Mary (Andy) Wang, of Columbus; and six great-grandchildren, Chance and Haylee Sisler, Jackson and Jacob Smith, and Kiara Gilbert and River Wang.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with minister Willy Purdee officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Central Christian Church, 1541 S. James “Jim” Stewart, 86, of Wurtland, died on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Funeral service are 2 p.m. Saturday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
