Marlene Belville

Sept. 20, 1926 — Nov. 23, 2014

 

Marlene Callicoat Belville, 88, of Gallipolis, formerly of the Swan Creek Community, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis with her daughter by her side holding her hand. She had resided at Holzer Assisted Living in Gallipolis for the past eight years.

She was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Lawrence County, to Gussie Wilson Callicoat and Robert Callicoat, who preceded her in death. She married Arnold Ray Belville in June 1941, in Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1978.

To this marriage were born two children, Eddie Arnold Belville, who preceded her in death April 13, 2007, and Anita Gail Belville, of Gallipolis, who dearly loved her.

She had seven sisters.

Surviving are Carol (Tommy) Smith, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Jewel Cabana, of Pompano Beach, Florida. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

In addition to her parents, husband and son, she was preceded in death by her identical twin, Darlene Belville, and sisters, Jerry Wisenberger, Eva Reece, Thelma Hopewell and Virginia Weatherford.

She and her husband owned and operated a farm on State Route 7 near Crown City. She loved farming, nature and God’s beautiful creation. She was a wonderful cook and loved to cook meals for her family and friends. She was a Christian and a devoted and loving wife and mother. She had served as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gallipolis VFW Post 4464.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel in Gallipolis with pastor Alvis Pollard and the Rev. Ron Nicholas officiating. Frank Vittorio

Frank Vittorio, 80, passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at his residence. Frank graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1954 and later served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Tony’s Super Service, having worked there for more than 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Maria (Centofanti) Vittorio; in-laws, Arthur and Garnet McFann; sisters, Stella (Harry) Monesi, Viola (Nick) Colucci and Mary (Sam) Lopresti; brothers, Joe, Tony and Dominic Vittorio; brothers-in-law, Olive Rosetti, Bernard Melchiorre, Eddie Carfagna, Franklin McFann and Bob Haas; sisters-in-law, Jean Vittorio, Jane (Paul) Sharp, Judy Neal and Carlene Klaiber.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marcella (McFann) Vittorio; daughter, Lora (Ron) Conant; son, Mark Vittorio; grandchildren, Jennifer, Tyler, Cory, Nico and Zoey; brother, Richie Vittorio; sisters, Doris Rosetti, Dolly Melchiorre, Rosie Zugaro, Mary Alice (Ron) Cua and Cecelia Carfagna; brothers-in-law, Frank Neal, Rick Klaiber, Darrell (Vivian) McFann and Harlen (Sherri) McFann; sisters-in-law, Lucy Vittorio, Betty Vittorio, Betty Vittorio, Cassie Haas, Barb McFann, Irene (Harold) Yates, Faye (Bill) Kerns, Lola Nelson and Debbie (Larry) Barnard; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel (within the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery) 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne, with family receiving friends from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Fred Jones

Fred D. Jones, 87, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

 

 

Michael Stormes

Nov. 3, 1949 ­—­ Nov. 25, 2014

 

Michael Lee Stormes, 65, of Kitts Hill, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born Nov. 3, 1949, a son of the late Henry and Ruth Owens Stormes. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Barbara Sue Pierce Stormes, whom he married May 1, 1993.

Michael was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and a former building contractor for Quality Spray Foam Insulation. He was a longtime member of Jeffersonville Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Meridith “Pete” Stormes; and three sisters, Patty McClaskey, Naomi Cunningham and Jane Gore.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael L. Jr. (Frankie) Stormes, and James C. Stormes, both of Ashland; a daughter, Julie A. (Jess) Prichard, of Ashland; three stepsons, Larry L. “Deana” Goodwin, of Pedro, Rob Leibee, of Ironton and John K. “Jerri” Goodwin, of Coal Grove; three brothers, Steven “Pat” Stormes, of Ironton, Jack “Jody” Stormes, of Coal Grove, and Tim “Donna” Stormes, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two sisters, Eva Corbin, of Coal Grove, and Donna Mae “Clifford” Gore, of Kitts Hill; a brother-in-law, Joe Gore of Kitts Hill; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jeffersonville Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens and visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Linda Carol Myers, 47, of Huntington, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Duke University Comprehensive Cancer Center in Durham, North Carolina. Daniel Turley, 70, of Greenup, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Carol Fields-Turley, of Greenup.
