The St. Joseph Female Flyers were missing their leading scorer. They weren’t missing their heart.

The Female Flyers overcame the absence of leading scorer Hannah Miller for the second straight game and beat the Fairview Lady Eagles 60-44 on Monday.

“I was very pleased with our girls. They played inspired. They really felt like they would get it done and they did,” said St. Joseph coach Nick Miller.

“Bri Bridges played her best game and Alyson Johnson really gave us a lift. The girls stepped up and did the job.”

Bridges had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Female Flyers (10-2). Lynsey Booker scored 12 points while Amber Neal and Johnson scored 11 points each.

Madison Humphrey score 18 points and Jessica Meeks 11 to lead Fairview (9-5).

The Female Flyers hit their first three shots of the game and jumped out to a 19-9 first quarter lead.

St. Joseph extended the lead to 34-21 halftime lead and it was 48-31 after three quarters.

St. Joseph plays at Rock Hill on Thursday.
