For many civic organizations, the ability to continue to operate and work to improve or help the community relies on fundraising.

Many times, the capacity to have one large fundraiser throughout the year can make or break the goals planned.

That is the case during the next week when residents will have several opportunities to help many organizations achieve their fundraising goals.

These include the annual Ironton Rotary pancake breakfast on Saturday, or First Baptist Church’s dinner on Sunday.

Although the goal is to help with funding for the organization, it is also about working to get residents involved and come together to aid in improving our community.

The ability to continue to move forward and enhance the quality of life for our county and region takes in part the important work of our civic organizations.

Lawrence County residents have a long-standing willingness to help regardless of the cause, and we hope that continues for many years to come.

Regardless of the fundraiser or organization, we encourage all those who can to attend these events.

Working together will allow us, as a community, county and region to accomplish goals for the greater good.
