OXFORD (AP) — Eric Washington had 17 points and seven assists, and Geovonie McKnight scored 13 of his 17 in the second half to help Miami (Ohio) beat Ohio 77-66 on Saturday, snapping a three-game skid overall and a seven-game slide in the series.

Washington moved into a three-way tie for sixth on the school’s single-season assist list with 138.

Will Sullivan scored 15 for Miami (9-16, 4-8 Mid-American) and Zack McCormick had 10 points.

McKnight, who also had six rebounds and three steals, scored six straight during a 17-2 run which gave the Redhawks a 64-50 lead with nine minutes to play.

Ohio (9-14, 4-8) trailed by double digits the rest of the way.

Miami made 27 of 49 (55.1 percent) field goals, 18 of 26 free throws and committed a season-low six turnovers.

Antonio Campbell led Ohio, which attempted a season-low three free throws, with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
