Mary Dement

Mary Dement, 92, a resident of Fairborn, formerly of Ironton, passed away on Thursday, Feb.19, 2015, at home following a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mary and Walter Roberts, who resided in Seaman, where she grew up. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Berkley F. Dement. She is survived by her daughters, Frances Shields of Aiken, South Carolina, Carla (Cathie) Osborne of Dayton, Delores (Dodie) Leibecke of Columbus; her granddaughter, Debbie Douglas, of Fairborn, whom she shared a residence in recent years.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom meant so much to her.

Having moved to Ironton from Seaman as a very young woman, she was employed by the Dayton Malleable Ironton Division. She retired with 30 years of service in 1976 and relocated to Bellbrook in 1977 to be closer to family members. She was a member of the Bellbrook Community Church.

Mary was an especially gentle, kind and loving woman who will be terribly missed by her family and friends.

A private service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

 

 

Denver Bradshaw

Denver Franklin Bradshaw, 80, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The Lawrence County native was born June 16, 1934, a son of the late Lawrence and Mildred Patton Bradshaw. He was the loving husband of 36 years to his wife, Marilyn Jones Bradshaw.

Mr. Bradshaw was a graduate of Decatur Washington High School, a former construction worker for the Waylo Construction Company and was of the Baptist faith. He was a kind and loving man, an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also greatly enjoyed his woodworking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Crawford; and a sister, Kathryn.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Jimmy) Sargent, of Grove City, and Renae (Mike) Smith; a stepson, Rick (Mary) Newman, of Ironton; three brothers, James, Paul and Tony; four sisters, Barbara, Jean, Deanne and Dottie; grandchildren, Ashley Sargent, Jordan Sargent, Kelli Massie, Aaron Massie, and Eric Smith; step grandchildren, Derek (Jessi) Newman, Amelia Newman, Caleb Newman, Casey Newman, Corey Newman, Jason Hicks and Danny Hicks; great-grandchildren, Chase, Christopher, Chelsie, Michael, Emily, Taylor and Anthony; and step great-grandchildren, Koen, Cash, Ryder, Taryn and Lexi.

James Harbolt

James “Jim” Harbolt, 49, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, in Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavaes, Florida. Jim was born April 21, 1965, in Ironton, a son to Robert E. and Norma Jean (Simmons) Harbolt.

Jim was a 1983 graduate of Ironton High School. He was a steelworker for West Virginia Steel.

In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by a daughter, Cathryn Nikki Harbolt, of Ironton; two sons, Gavin Harbolt, of Ironton, and Landon Harbolt, of Russell, Kentucky; a sister, Kendra Harbolt, of Ironton; a brother, Bobby (Missy) Harbolt, of Ironton; three grandchildren, Trent Harbolt, of Russell, Kentucky, Knox Harbolt, of Columbus, and Keaura Goldsby, of Ironton; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who will miss him.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Ferguson and pastor Rob Hale of the First Nazarene Church in Ironton officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Ann Tanzini

Ann Marie Tanzini, 71, of Milton, West Virginia, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Robert Bob Tanzini. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Abundant Hope Baptist Church, Barboursville, West Virginia. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Gladys Stewart

Gladys M. Aldridge Stewart, 94, of Portsmouth, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at her daughter’s home. She was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Arbaugh Stumbo.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Theda) Aldridge and Keith Stewart; two daughters, Linda Mart (Don) and Ginger Gaines; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and five daughters-in-law, Mary, Joann, Dolly, Sharon and Linda. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Aldridge, and her second husband, Delbert Stewart; four sons, Bob Aldridge, Earl Aldridge, John Aldridge and Don Aldridge; three brothers, Gene Stumbo, Johnny Stumbo and Clarence Stumbo; three sisters, Mary Ellen Phillips, Margaret Camp and Hazel Stumbo; two sons-in-law, James Mart and Gary Gaines Sr.; and two daughters-in-law, Geri Aldridge and Hazel Aldridge.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with pastor Jack Lore officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton. Mary Pauline Bays, 85, of South Point, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Madison Park, Huntington. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point. Robert Simpson

Robert H. Simpson, 80, of Kenova, West Virginia, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation. He is survived by his wife, Elena Brock Simpson. There will be no services. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville.

 

 

Milissa Parker

Milissa Kay Parker, 45, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. She is survived by her husband, Roger Parker.
