SOUTH POINT— A ribbon cutting to announce the grand opening of O’Reilly Auto Parts is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event.

“I think O’Reilly coming to that section of the county is very positive,” Bill Dingus, executive director of the Lawrence Economic Development Corporation, said. “The chamber is pleased to be a part of the ribbon cutting and grand opening. It’s good for the community and good for the area.”

Along with the ribbon cutting, store manager JR Fields will present a $200 check to Veterans Helping Veterans and Families on behalf of the entire O’Reilly Auto Parts Company.

The grand opening will run from March 11 to March 24.

“Really, there are no dedicated auto parts stores the size of the O’Reilly chain in this area,” Dingus said. “It will help the South Point market as there are huge numbers of potential clients that it will be a great benefit to.”

O’Reilly Automotive, Inc. is one of the country’s largest specialty retailers of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies, equipment and accessories. Founded by the O’Reilly family, the company operates more than 4,200 stores in 42 states.
