COAL GROVE — Columbia Gas of Kentucky is working on replacing about 50 services, or pipes that go from the main line out to properties, on Marion Pike, Patrick, Jefferson and Gunn streets.

Two and four-inch cast iron bare steel pipes are being replaced with long-lasting plastic pipes.

Columbia Gas of Kentucky communications specialist Risa Richardson said that 501 out of 800 two-inch pipes and 1,516 out of 2,860 four-inch pipes have already been replaced and that the project is estimated to be complete in August. However, weather conditions may delay progress.
