COAL GROVE — Coal Grove police responded to a call about an assault at 428 Lane St. Tuesday around 8:20 p.m. where they found more than what they anticipated.

“When we got there, the homeowners had just gotten back from vacation,” Eric Spurlock, Coal Grove police chief, said. “Two people were watching the house and one was sitting on the couch smoking meth when the altercation took place between the homeowners and the gentlemen watching the house.”

Spurlock said six active one-pot methamphetamine labs crystallizing in bottles were recovered from the residence along with a large amount of finished product.
