On Saturday, the upstairs of the Briggs Lawrence County Library Ironton branch will be filled with a variety of crafts and items from local vendors, as the Friends of the Library are hosting its third annual Octoberfest Arts and Crafts Fair.

Wood carvings, soaps, lotions, hand sewn items and jewelry are just some of the items that will be available.

“We’re approaching Christmas and this is a good opportunity to get very unique items for Christmas gifts,” Nancy Norris, of the Friends of the Library, said. “These are items you won’t find at any mall or store. People come with the thought that they’ll see something they won’t see anywhere else.”

Norris said each year the fair has increased in size and that it’s at the maximum this year.

“We have former vendors and new vendors this year and there will be 23 vendors,” she said. “The Friends of the Library are very appreciative of the library to offer us space.”

The group also hosts an arts and crafts fair every June.
