Hanging Rock Police make drug bust

Eight pounds of marijuana was allegedly found in a Portsmouth man’s car following a traffic stop by the Hanging Rock Police Department.

According to a press release from the HRPD, an officer stopped a vehicle for a display of plates violation around 10 a.m. today. The officer confirmed the driver was operating on a suspended license.

According to the release, the officer smelled “the raw odor of marijuana” and observed other criminal indicators.

A search of the vehicle resulted in about 8 pounds of marijuana being found.

Arrested was Darnell Lisath, 40, charged with driving under suspension, trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs.
