IRONTON —According to Lawrence County Auditor Jason Stephens, dog licenses for 2016 are now available for sale. The cost for licensing is $12 per dog.

Licenses may be purchased on line at the Lawrence County Auditor’s Website www.lawrencecountyauditor.org or licenses are also available at the following locations:

• Lawrence County Dog Shelter, 1302 Adams Lane, Ironton;

• Dickess Market, 13629 State Route 141;

• Tipton’s Mini Mart, 6366 State Route 93;

• Jim’s Gun Shop, 300 Front St., Proctorville;

• BMV-Proctorville, 402 Trent St., Proctorville; and

• Lawrence County Auditor’s Office, second floor of the courthouse

“Licensing your dog is easy and is required by state law,” Stephens said. “Also it may insure that your pet will be returned if it becomes lost.”

The revenue from the sales of the dog licenses goes directly to funding the Lawrence County Dog Shelter.
