Herd falls to 0-6

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Shakir Brown scored 21 of his career-high 30 points in the second half and Ron Curry added 20 as James Madison defeated Marshall for the second time in nine days, 107-84 on Sunday.

Dimitrije Cabarkapa added 18 points and Tom Vodanovich added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Dukes (7-3), who scored 60 points in the second half, the first time they’ve done that since 1992.

James Kelly led the Thundering Herd (0-6), who lost the first meeting at home 89-75, with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Taylor added 19 points and Stevie Browning 15.

James Madison shot 50 percent for the game, including 14 of 29 behind the arc, went 25 of 34 from the foul line and outrebounded Marshall 54-34 with Jackson Kent grabbing 11.

Marshall shot 43 percent but made only 7 of 36 behind the arc and 15 of 28 free throws.
