WILLOW WOOD — The schedule said Oak Hill, and that’s who it was.

In typical Oak Hill fashion, the Oaks played their style to perfection as they beat the Symmes Valley Vikings 61-34 on Tuesday.

The Oaks (2-1) controlled the tempo of the game, knocked down 10 3-point goals and played solid defense en route to the win.

“They just played a solid Oak Hill game. They shot the ball well from the outside and they only had eight turnovers,” said Vikings’ coach Donnie Saunders.

“We didn’t play well from the beginning. We just didn’t seem to have any energy.”

Nolan Carroll hit four 3-point goals and scored 14 points for the Oaks. Dennis Fleming added 13 points and Mitchell Hale had 11 points.

Landon Carroll — Nolan’s twin brother — along with Wes Mullet and Hale each had a pair of 3-point goals.

Derrek Smith scored 10 points to lead the Vikings (1-3).

“Smith played better. That was his best game so far. We just didn’t have anybody with him. We couldn’t get going,” said Saunders.

Hale scored 8 points in the first quarter as the Oaks jumped out to a 22-8 lead. Collin Webb had 5 of the Vikings’ points.

Nolan Carroll scored 8 points in the second quarter as Oak Hill increased the lead to 32-15 at the half.

Fleming got 8 points in the third quarter as the Oaks stretched the cushion to 46-21.

The Vikings play at Green on Friday.
