COAL GROVE — Old St. Nick sure is keeping himself busy this holiday season, making appearances all over Lawrence County.

On Saturday, he’ll visit the village of Coal Grove to take photos with children and feast on a mountain of pancakes.

From 9 a.m.-noon, the Coal Grove Betterment Club and the Coal Grove Lions Club will host its annual Breakfast with Santa at the Dawson-Bryant High School cafeteria. The event is always free to the public and includes entertainment.

Carol Gool, member of the betterment club, said first-, second- and third-graders from the elementary school will perform songs and a balloon artist will be on hand.

“We give treat bags to all the kids under 12,” she said. “Santa, that’s the main thing, will be on stage and they can take pictures if they want.”

Brad Jenkins, pastor of Coal Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, will MC the event.
