Gregory A. Bland, 54, of Willow Wood, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He was born Feb. 18, 1961, in Huntington, West Virginia.

He attended Union Baptist Church, Kitts Hill. He was employed with Special Metals and a member of Steelworkers Local Union #40. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Betts Bland; his parents, Kenneth, Jr. and Wilma Bland; two sons, Caleb Andrew (Tiffany) Bland, of Willow Wood, and Cody Aaron (Haley) Bland, of Willow Wood; two grandchildren, Pa’s Princess, Maci Marie and Pa’s Baby, Trace Ryker; two brothers, Kenny (Sherri) Bland, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Ronnie Bland, of Tampa, Florida; father-in-law and mother-in-law Donald and Mary Betts, of Willow Wood; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, with pastor Darrell Fowler and pastor Brian Long. Private burial will follow. Carl “Dave” Gibson, 68, of South Point, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley, Ironton. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Coal Grove, with pastors Ed Cook and Todd Warner officiating. Alice Short

Alice Mary Thomas Short, 95, of Kitts Hill, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev.
