Sept. 30, 1933 — March 23, 2016

Jimmy E. Russell, 82, of Beaver, formerly of Pedro, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at his residence. The Superior native was born Sept. 30, 1933, a son of the late Dave and Bertha Abrams Russell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Marie Lore Russell, who passed away May 25, 2002.

Mr. Russell attended Decatur schools and was a bulldozer operator for Eagle Stone Company in Pedro and retired from Best Sand Company in Beaver. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Ironton and enjoyed camping and fishing.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Mark Anthony Russell and Eddie Russell; a grandson, Mitchell Horner II;

five sisters, Elizabeth Turvey, Bessie Summers, Iede Hope Russell, Viola Aldridge, and Katie Gross French; and four brothers, Elmer Russell, Manuel “Spider” Russell, Ernest Russell, and Orville Russell.

He is survived by three daughters, Sharon Moore of Beaver, Diana (Mitchell) Horner of Oak Hill and Tammy (Jack) Hoover of Beaver;

two sons,Ronnie Russell of Jackson and Jimmy Lee (Sis) Russell of Oak Hill; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Aldridge officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Russell, Jimmy Lee Russell, Mitchell Horner, Jack Hoover, Ronald Woodruff, and Berman Stewart.

The Rev. Cleo Watson, 89, of Scottown, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Delsie. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery, Willow Wood. Stella Jane Lynch, 46, of Kitts Hill, died Monday, March 21, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lick Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Toney officiating. A reception will follow where friends are invited to bring a covered dish. Brown Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
