Joseph Dillon

May 13, 1935—March 25, 2016

Joseph Louis Dillon, 80, of Kitts Hill passed away, Friday, March 25, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The Ironton native was born May 13, 1935 a son to the late Edward and Stella (Kelley) Dillon. Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Juanita (Gannon) Dillon.

Joe was a 1953 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force. He later worked as a car man for CSX Railroad. He was a Rock Hill youth baseball and football coach for 26 years.  He was also a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Kitts Hill.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by five children, Colin (Crystal) Dillon of Kitts Hill; Dennis (Tracie) Dillon of Lexington, Kentucky; Tara Boggs of Coal Grove; Becky (Kevin) Estep of Kitts Hill; and Brett (Heather) Dillon of Kitts Hill; and six grandchildren, Holly Estep, Lacey Estep, both of Kitts Hill, Ohio; Natalie Boggs, Madison Boggs, both of Coal Grove, Chris “Tank” Dillon and Hope Dillon, both of Kitts Hill.

In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by a brother, George Edward Dillon

Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton with pastors Matt Dillon and Dennis Hankins officiating. Burial will follow at Mamre Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 8850. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Community Hospice Center, 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, KY 41101.

Millard Leland Rose, 75, of Scottown, died Saturday, March 26, 2016, at St Mary’s Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Angela Rose.
