The Ohio Valley Conference baseball game between the Ironton Fighting Tigers and Coal Grove Hornets that originally was suspended on April 6 in the middle of the seventh inning has been ruled a complete game.

Bernie Hensley of the local high school baseball umpire chapter contacted Ironton coach Larry Goodwin and Coal Grove coach Dean Mader to explain that the suspended game ruling was incorrect.

At the umpires’ meeting on Sunday, it was determined that this was an official game. The game was suspended in the middle of the seventh inning with Ironton leading 7-6.

However, the rule book says the game is complete since the teams played at least five innings, or in this case they play six full innings.
