Summer reading program set for June

IRONTON — Children sang, danced and made crafts on Monday, as part of the final session of Preschool Story Time for the season at the Briggs-Lawrence Public Library.

Library assistant Jan Gullett, who organizes youth programs for the library system, read several books to children based on the day’s theme of fish.

The program is free and no reservations are required to bring children.

The children also danced and sang songs, before wrapping up their visit by making their own fish as a craft project.

Gullett said Monday’s event would be the last story session for the spring, as the library gets ready to kick off its annual summer reading program in June. Details on the program should be available in mid-May, she said.
