Gallia beats Lady Pointers

GALLIPOLIS — South Point kept taking leads but the Gallipolis Blue Angels kept coming back.

The Lady Pointers built two different leads only to watch Gallipolis rally for a 9-6 Ohio Valley Conference win on Wednesday.

A walk, an error and a two-run single by Jamishua Anderson gave South Point a 2-0 lead in the second.

Gallipolis tied the game in the third but South Point went ahead 5-2 in the fourth on a two-run single by Haley Rawlins and an RBI single by Keiana Conwell.

The Blue Angels scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the inning and lead 7-5.

South Point added a run in the fifth on a hit by Leah Lawson, an error and Anderson’s base hit.

Gallipolis got two runs in the bottom of the inning on a walk, singles by Lexi Polinsky and Allie Jo Clagg and a double by Hunter Copley.

Conwell was 3-3, Anderson 2-3 with three RBIs, and Sara Allen and Rawlins were 2-4 for the Lady Pointers.

South Point plays at Rock Hill on Friday.
