GALLIPOLIS — The Gallipolis Blue Angels won the Ohio Valley Conference volleyball championship for the second straight year with an unbeaten league record.
Gallipolis beat the South Point Lady Pointers 25-13, 25-14, 25-12 on Thursday to finish the league 14-0 and improve to 22-0 overall.
In the reserve game, Gallipolis won 25-16, 26-24.
South Point visits Portsmouth West on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 4 p.m. in the Division III sectional tournament.
Lady Vikings fall
PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Clay Lady Panthers downed the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings in a Southern Ohio Conference volleyball game on Thursday.
The Lady Panthers won in straight sets, 25-13, 25-18 and 25-20.
Symmes Valley hosts Corning Miller at 6 p.m. Monday in the Division IV sectional tournament.
